How to prevent dogs from biting?
Dogs, cats, and some animals have special instincts and can sense human emotions or thoughts. Sometimes, when we're sad, unwell, or in pain, they come to comfort us and make us feel better. However, there are times when we may not understand them, and unexpected incidents with dogs can occur. Today, we have 5 ways to prevent dog bites.
  • No running: Dogs are natural predators, and when they see someone running, they might think of us as prey and chase us, potentially leading to a bite.
  • Avoid direct eye contact: Staring can be seen as a challenge and indicate dominance. It's best not to stare at a dog, especially one you don't know well.
  • Don't bother a dog while eating or sleeping: Disturbing a dog while it's eating or resting can make them irritable and more likely to react aggressively. They may show signs of growling, snapping, or biting.
  • Use a commanding voice: If a dog approaches you aggressively, the best thing to do is stand still and confidently use a loud, authoritative voice to say "Go" or "Leave." This is one of the most effective ways to deter a dog.
  • Stay still and calm: Stand still, be as calm as possible, and avoid sudden movements. Dogs are less likely to approach someone who doesn't appear afraid or provoke them.

While dogs can be humans' best friends due to their loyalty, friendliness, and cuteness, communication can be challenging since humans and dogs speak different languages. Understanding each other 100% can be difficult. Each year, there are numerous reports of people being injured by dog bites, whether from stray dogs, owned dogs, or even self-inflicted bites. The best prevention is to get vaccinated against rabies.
